How We Work, From First Call to Final Walkthrough
Hiring a contractor can feel like a gamble. We try to take that uncertainty off the table by being clear about how we work from the very first phone call.
Here is the process you can expect when you work with Bright Ridge Construction on a deck, screen porch, or bathroom project. It is the same whether the job is large or small, and it has not changed since the day Sam started the company.
A Quick Phone Call First
It starts with a conversation. Sam calls you back quickly and spends five or ten minutes learning about your project. The goal of that first call is to make sure it is a good fit for both of us. If it makes sense, he may give you a ballpark number right on the phone so you know early whether we are in the same range.
A Free In Person Consultation
Next, Sam comes out to look at the project in person, and there is no charge for it. Right now most consultations happen on weekday evenings after five, since he is finishing up at his current job before going full time on the business. He looks things over, takes a video for reference, and talks through what you are hoping to do.
Options & Pricing
One of the things homeowners appreciate most is being given choices. Repair or replace. Wood or composite. A bigger footprint or a simpler one. Sam often lays out a few options right there and gives you rough pricing on the spot using his estimating tool, so you understand the trade offs before any decision is made.
A Written Proposal, Usually Within About 72 Hours
After the visit, you get a clear written proposal, usually within about seventy two hours. It spells out the scope and the price so you know exactly what you are getting. No vague handshake numbers, and no pressure to decide on the spot.
Scheduling Your Project
Once you are ready to move forward, we get you on the calendar. We are typically booking about a month out. You will get a loose timeline first, and then we firm it up as your start date gets closer so you can plan around it.
The Build
A few days before work begins, the dumpster and materials are delivered so everything is on site and ready. Then the crew works consecutively until the job is done rather than disappearing for days at a time. Sam is on site during the day, keeping an eye on the details and the quality of the work.
Communication During the Build
You are never left wondering what is going on. Sam does daily check ins, usually at the start of the day and often at the end, and he texts an ETA before the crew arrives. For a deck, the work is outside, so you can be at work or going about your day while we build.
A Final Walkthrough Together
When the work is finished, we walk the project together. We make sure everything was done the way you expected and that you are genuinely happy with the result. Then we clean everything up well and leave your property in good shape.
After the Project
Once the work is done and you are happy, we ask for a review, something we usually mention earlier so it is no surprise. We will offer to leave a yard sign, and we leave a referral card too. A lot of our work comes from neighbors who saw the last project.
Our One Year Workmanship Warranty
Every project we do is backed by a one year workmanship warranty. If something we did not catch on day one shows up a week or a few months later, you can call and Sam will take care of what is reasonable. It is a simple promise, and it is there so you are not on your own the moment the job wraps up.
What We Need From You
Our part is to communicate clearly and do the work right. Your part is simple. Tell us what you are hoping for and what matters most to you, whether that is a budget, a deadline, or a certain look. Be honest about your timeline so we can be honest about ours. And ask questions any time something is not clear. The projects that go best are the ones where the homeowner felt comfortable speaking up the whole way through.
Why Our Process Works This Way
None of this is complicated, and that is the point. The reasons homeowners get burned by contractors are almost always the same. Nobody calls them back. The price keeps changing. The crew shows up for a day and then vanishes for a week. Every step above exists to take one of those problems off the table before it can happen.
It also comes down to one thing that is hard to copy. The owner is the one running your job. When Sam is on site every day, communication is not a separate task that falls through the cracks, it is just how the work goes. You are talking to the person who is actually building your project and who answers for the result.
